Soulmates – Episode 5

So here is the next part of this story, I’m over there holding the red coat. It’s now Monday and prom was on Friday. I thought that the prank would be all over school now, but it’s a hush hush thing in the halls.

I thought today was going to be a good day, ha…

People were moving through the halls at the usual rate, I was talking to Aj about after school we could hang out. Oh yeah, and I had to cancel a Tuesday meeting for our club.

That was just it, we were minding our own business too, then Liz came over. And when I knew that today wouldn’t end well.

“Kat, the principal wanted to see you immediately” She said in an off tone. Then she walked away.

“The principal? It’s probably about the club again” I said, Aj however looked worried. He must’ve thought he did something to get in trouble like his old schools.

“I’ll come with you, for support, it can’t be that bad anyway but let me come with” He said, but I refused. I was the one who he needed to see, I’d rather not get my friends involved.
“You stay here and wait for Ashley, it’s me he wants and I’m not letting you get involved” I told him, and started heading off in that direction.

“You needed to see me Mr. Grant?” I asked, he was standing and holding a file. Obviously it couldn’t be good news.

“Yes Katerina, I’m afraid that your stunt on Friday has come to my attention” He said, he picked up a couple papers from his file.

“And about that? It’s a statement sir” I retorted, I had a feeling of what he was going to do, so sass was full on.

“I only did what I thought was right for my people! You can’t hold me against that either” I said, He sighed and looked over his files once more. This is it.

“I have talked it over with the school board, and your actions have caused you to be permanently expelled from school” He handed me the paper, I felt as if all of the oxygen had been knocked out of me.

“I have a week to graduate! You can’t do this, you couldn’t have waited one week?” I crumpled half of the paper, he had been planning to get rid of me since my freshman year, instead he does it now.

“Serious actions hold serious consequences, I’m sorry to inform you that you will not be graduating. Please pack your stuff and leave the school premises” He said, with such cold hearted tones it could freeze the summer sun. I turned my back to leave.

“Yes sir” I said, closing my eyes so he couldn’t see the anger or sadness collecting.

“She’s been in there too long Aj” Ashley said, walking to the locker of her friend. Then they saw Kat grabbing her books and tablet.

“Kat! What happened in there? Are you okay?” They asked her, she had this blank look on her face as she grabbed her things.

“Nothing happened, I’m fine” She said and turned to walk away. They knew better though.

“You might want to see this, I’m sorry” Liz said to them as she handed them a slightly crumpled letter.

“Kat was expelled…” Ashley mumbled, she was shocked, worried, and upset. She started to tear up.

“We should have gone in there with her!” Ashley said, Aj couldn’t calm her down, so she went to the bathroom.

“What are we going to do now…” he whispered to himself, right now the halls were empty. Then his arm started to hurt.

“Not this stupid mark!” He ripped off his bracelet.

And a new part of his tattoo was there, ‘Ana’.

“Just great…”
